Reasons for substitue values

There are several scenarios that require substitute value formation. Data capture may become impossible for several reasons, for example a defective measuring device or incorrect configuration. However, substitute values can also simply be derived or calculated values. This is may be the case when you want to determine period values based on meter reading differences.

Automatic substitute value formation to fill gaps

According to the BDEW (German Association of Energy and Water Industries) metering code, the system has to fill recording gaps of up to 2 hours automatically and label them accordingly. Within the KBR system, this is done by the eBus master, among others. If it recognizes such a gap in the load profile memory of a device, the eBus master generates the integral starting from the last value before the gap until the first value after it. The newly generated period values are labeled with status 1 for substitute value.

Automatic substitute value formation when capturing meter readings

In the case of measuring devices without an own load profile memory, the system can only read meter readings. The consumption values for this time range are calculated from the difference between two meter readings. Based on the consumption values, visual energy 4 can then create the load profile of the respective time range. Load profile values generated this way are also substitute values. This also applies if the meter reading is read periodically, for example every 15 minutes.

Manual substitute value formation

visual energy 4 supports the subsequent editing of measured values. Every edited value is flagged with a status label. Special functions allow you to detect and display gaps if there are missing values. The gaps can be filled as follows:

  • with a fixed, manually entered value.
  • with values of any meter point from any time range.
  • by importing data from a CSV file.
  • by importing data from an MSCONS file.
