What visual energy users say
With visual energy from KBR, we know what is happening in our plants and are notified if something gets out of hand!
The visual energy energy management system enables us to accurately record our energy consumption and visualise it clearly. As we use a great deal of energy, it was of the utmost importance to us to monitor every major consumption point in real time.

Maximum data quality – the benefits for you:
Precise, real-time load profile measurement
Track energy flows to the nearest second and without delay.
This enables you to work with precision, identify potential savings at an early stage and lay the foundations for seamless, optimised load management.
Load profiles checked for plausibility
visual energy automatically validates your energy data in accordance with TÜV and ISO standards.
Data is processed consistently, in compliance with standards (BDEW Metering Code, OBIS) and in an audit-proof manner. All to ensure full auditability.
Automated outlier detection
Automatically identify unusual consumption patterns and instances where thresholds are exceeded.
Notifications are sent immediately if required. This enables proactive action rather than reactive intervention.
Intuitive visualisation & reporting
Present your complex energy data clearly.
From dashboards and customised reports to MSCONS-compatible exports.
This gives you an at-a-glance overview of your energy consumption and costs.
Certified energy data collection
Put your trust in security: with visual energy, you have access to high-performance, TÜV-certified software that meets all the requirements of modern energy data management. And it even goes one step further! The plausibility and consistency of the energy data have been officially certified by TÜV as a unique selling point.
All features form part of a TÜV-certified integrated system that is fully compatible with ISO 50001 and can be seamlessly integrated into existing energy management structures.

How do I make use of electricity exchange prices?
Integrate dynamic electricity exchange prices into your system.
Compare fixed and variable electricity prices so that you can see at a glance which option offers you the greatest savings.
When combined with an energy optimisation and load management system (multimax), you can achieve even greater savings.
What can I do with the new P/Q scatter plot?
The new PQ scatter plot gives you a precise insight into your reactive power monitoring and allows you to see at a glance whether you are within your network operator’s specifications and operating in compliance with standards.
The diagram is a representation of reactive power for monitoring compliance with standards in a four-quadrant diagram. P stands for active power and Q for reactive power.
What new customisation options are available to me?
Among other things, you can further customise your views using additional folder structures and simplified table displays and exports. The ability to assign tags and labels provides you with greater structure and clarity.
What does the sector of machines involve?
With the newly created SEU section Machinery, you can now complete your ISO 50001 audits even more quickly. You have the option of mapping your processes in a way that ensures their plausibility – similar to cost centres and energy usage.
Does the action plan comply with the VALERI standard?
You can now manage your measures in an even more targeted way. By integrating additional fields for the VALERI standard, you can now also take its guidelines into account and prioritise and implement your measures based on savings, net present value and investment.
Are the workflows automated?
Workflows have been automated for tasks such as data requests and the calculation of share objects, amongst other things. When configuring settings, you now benefit from faster loading times and significant time savings.
Is information about the system easy to find?
The complete documentation supplied with the system has been redesigned: you can now find information more easily and in greater detail, including FAQs to help you get started with the Dashboard Designer.
What else can I do with visual energy?
You can find an A–Z overview of the features here.
What has changed in the operating system?
A major change was taking place behind the scenes: the system architecture was completely rebuilt to be future-proof.
You decide whether you want to use a Linux or Windows server. We can support both.
Switching to Linux offers a number of advantages:
- Efficient use of resources
- Faster start times
- Improved I/O performance
- Platform-independent portability and flexibility
- Scalability
- With Linux, rather than a Windows-based host, there are no Windows licence costs
Where can I find the system requirements?
Do I need a Linux server from version 5.2 of visual energy onwards?
No. However, it is possible: as a customer, you decide whether to use a Linux or Windows server.
For Windows servers, you must continue to check which version is supported. This depends, amongst other things, on the annual versions of Microsoft servers (newer versions generally provide significantly better support). Please feel free to contact your point of contact for detailed information, such as when the server needs updating.
I have an all-in-one (AIO) system. Do I need to buy a new server for this?
This depends on the version of the server. Newer versions continue to be supported through the installation and use of a Windows Subsystem for Linux, whilst older systems do not always provide this.
Does the update have a negative impact on the Excel add-in as a Windows programme?
No. The Excel add-in continues to be supported and, with version 5.2, further expands the range of functions available in visual energy.
I don’t know much about Linux. What should I do now?
You decide whether to use a Linux or Windows server. We can support both.
With Windows servers, it is still important to check which version is supported. Linux is technically extremely powerful in the server sector.
