Why is the topic relevant?
The consumers in our electricity grids have changed considerably in recent years. In the past, linear loads with a pure 50 Hz current consumption dominated, whereas today more power-electronically controlled systems and components are used. The difference lies in the shape of the current consumption curve, which is no longer sinusoidal and leads to network feedback in the voltage, in particular to so-called harmonics. These harmonics can lead to machine and system failures.
