We use a large number of frequency converters and electronic switching power supplies in our DB power grid. Although these power electronics enable us to achieve outstanding energy efficiency, it is precisely these components that lead to negative feedback effects on the grid and all connected consumers. As a result, we had a lot of wear out and tear on equipment, malfunctions and breakdowns. The more energy-efficient we became, i.e. the more power electronics were used, the more disruptive harmonics appeared.
